Katie and Brian's Indiana Engagement Session!

Welcome back to our Weekly Wednesday blog post! This week we’d like to share with you Katie & Brian’s Engagement Session that we captured this week here in Indiana! Let’s start from the beginning, though. Katie reached out to us this summer (2021) the month these two got engaged to chat with us about their upcoming Spring 2022 wedding that they’ll be having near their home in Schereville (close to the Indiana/ Illinois border). Jenny has known Katie since high school here in South Bend (at St. Joe), so it was exciting to get to catch up when we met with these two a little over 3 months ago in person (all masked up) to chat about their upcoming wedding, their relationship, and their jobs! We can’t wait to capture their wedding for them next year and in the meantime were happy that we got to capture their Engagement Session on their original date (despite it raining & all of us having to choose a new location)! That said, let’s get into their beautiful Session from this week-!!

We are so happy that this Engagement Session with Katie & Brian went beautifully! Originally they had planned for us to capture their Session outside closer to them at Centennial Park (about an hour & a half from us) with hopefully some beautiful autumn foliage, but Mother Nature had other plans as it rained much of the week! Katie is an Occupational Therapist, so her schedule at the hospital has obviously been pretty crazy what with working in healthcare in a Pandemic, so they opted to stick with their date and instead move their Session indoors- still with plants, though!

Katie being an Occupational Therapist at a hospital during this long Pandemic actually plays in to how these two met. Since the Pandemic was in full-force last year with no vaccines yet, these two actually met online via a dating app and started getting to know each other via video chats and phone!

Since the weather was getting cold outside as they got to know each other via video chats and texts, an outdoor meeting in-person didn’t seem to feasible, so it seemed like an in-person meeting would have to be inside. Since it’s long been a Pandemic though, Katie works in a hospital (which is pretty high stakes), AND like we mentioned there were no vaccines yet rolled out in 2020. Katie suggested that Brian get Covid tested so that they could have an in-person date at home to keep things safe. To her happy surprise he was in! Brian got Covid tested, tested negative, and these two finally got to meet in person and start dating!

Katie said that Brian being so open and willing to be Covid tested to hang out with her in person was yet another huge factor in her knowing that he’s a good guy. These two hit it off right away and were so happy to have finally met the right one- especially in such a crazy time for the world!

Being around these two you can tell that they’re meant for each other. They balance each other out in ways that good relationships should.

Thank you so much, Katie & Brian, for rolling with Mother Nature’s plans and being willing to change your location to the great indoors! We hope that you two had fun during your Engagement Session and we can’t wait to share the rest of these photos with you when we finish editing them over the weekend! Even more so we can’t wait to capture your wedding coming up next year in the Spring (in just half a year)! We love getting to show just a portion of your love story and can’t wait to capture the next chapter so soon!
