Though fall technically ended within this past week, we wanted to share with you Stefanie & Kip's California fall wedding! We haven't previously shared their wedding here on the blog, so we figured now is as good a time as any.
4 years (and 3 months ago) these two celebrated their wedding in early fall on September 28th, 2013 in Paso Robles, California. If you don't know where Paso Robles is, it's located in the Central Coast area of California just above SLO (San Luis Obispo) which was 2 hours north of our former home of Santa Barbara, California. Early fall in Paso Robles generally feels like summer, so there weren't too many noticeable leaf changes. Summer in mid-California means a lot of dead grasses, while winter signifies a lot of lush green and growth, so with the weather in the upper 90s, the plants were just moving out of the dry and dead phase.
Stefanie & Kip started their wedding weekend out in style. They rented a huge house in Paso Robles so that all of their family and friends could be together for the wedding weekend. The wedding day took place at a Denner Vineyard, so Kip and his groomsmen (a couple being his sons) got prepared in the basement of a wine cellar on the property! Stefanie and her bridesmaids, however, got ready at a local hotel. Jason took traditional photos of the groomsmen with Kip prior to the ceremony around the property as Stefanie, the bridesmaids, and the guests started trickling (out of sight) in to the vineyard.
Soon it was time for the ceremony to start! It was an outdoor wedding held right before sunset in a California vineyard, so needless to say the ceremony was absolutely stunning! Since two families were joining in the matrimony through their wedding ceremony, Stefanie and Kip had their children join in during a sand ceremony in which different colored sands were poured into one vase signifying the inseparable nature of the union! Following the sand ceremony the two exchanged their vows and the ceremony was complete!
Following the ceremony we captured a few photos of the entire bridal party with Kip and Stefanie, then we went out into the vineyard itself and captured photos of just the two newlyweds.
Following the newlywed portraits we headed back to the reception area and guests enjoyed Cocktail Hour outside with the local wines from the vineyard itself! After Cocktail Hour, guests found their seats at the tables outside and toasts/ speeches began. After the toasts, guests enjoyed their meals and things moved quickly into Open Dance!

This week we've been printing hundreds of prints for our some of our fall 2017 wedding couples who just chose their prints that came with their packages, print orders from clients across the country, and Christmas Family Portrait photos! We're also currently finishing up edits on a Portrait Session and are setting up a handful of wedding consultations for January-! Whew! The work has still been non-stop since Christmas ended a couple days ago and we're so excited to finish up, package, and send out more physical photo print packages in the mail this week-!! New Year's Eve is just four evenings from now and we plan on heading up from Indiana to Michigan to celebrate! When we return from Michigan next week we'll have 4 more work days before we have a sitter come stay and watch all of our pets in our home so that we can head to California and Mexico to spend time with Jason's side of the family for belated holidays! January to March is a sort of "Low Season" for wedding photographers, so we waited until after our busy fall to winter rush was over to head out on the holiday visit this year! We're so excited to send out the beautiful printed photos to clients this week and next AND to visit family and friends in a little over a week!! ((We are also so excited to meet with a ton of great couples for wedding consultations immediately the first two days that we return-!!)
