This weekend was full of a plethora of Family Portrait Sessions for many of our clients! We had 4 Sessions throughout 2 days from Michigan to Indiana, from lake times to the University of Notre Dame, and from On Location in nature to In Studio portraiture. Just a few days ago we were able to capture some of these Portrait Sessions, including a Portrait Session gift to the mother of one of our upcoming 2018 Wedding Photography couples! Since Sara & Chad purchased the Family Portrait Session just a few days after they booked their wedding with us in December 2017, we prioritized their Family Portrait Session for Chad's mom Peggy to share on the blog this week (with those who booked their Sessions for this past weekend later than that coming up in the future Weekly Wednesday blog posts in the next couple Wednesdays).
Sara & Chad's wedding is coming up in a little over two months at the end of October, so we were exciting going into the weekend knowing that we'd be meeting much of their/ Chad's family (since the Family Portrait Session was gifted to his mother Peggy). It's always nice to get to know more of a couple's family members prior to their wedding so that they have fun and feel comfortable around the camera on the wedding day, plus it's just find to put names to faces!
Chad (the furthest to the left in the top left photo) is one of his mother Peggy's 3 sons. Each son has his own family, wife, and kids, so in total there were sixteen family members who showed up with Peggy having 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren pictured! (One family did not show up, so we were missing a grand child and that family including a few more great grand children.)
Peggy and Sara (Chad's soon-to-be wife who we'll be photographing at their wedding this fall) did much of the leg work sorting out when and where all of them could get together for a short Sunset Family Portrait Session this summer and then letting us know the age ranges and immediate families included. We came ready with our formal "Shot List" of photos, but we were mainly excited about the large family group photo!
All of the family members were extremely sweet and we can't wait until they see the gallery from their Family Portrait Session at the end of this week!
Thank you so much to Sara for choosing to get the Session as a gift for her mother-in-law Peggy and to Peggy for helping organize the date and place! We had a blast with all of you on Sunday and we hope you love the photos! Expect an email with the gallery link coming to you at the end of this week!

Next week we'll be blogging about baby Emilia's half year Studio Infant Session! Emilia was an absolutely adorable nugget to work with and we're excited to share those photos along with how we know her mother-! The following Wednesday (Jenny's birthday) on September 5th we'll be sharing the last of the recent Sessions: The Lehman Family's lake Portrait Session! We ourselves just celebrated our Anniversary together yesterday (our 5th August 21st together!) and are prepping for hectic travel time coming up. Now we're off to continue editing all of the Sessions, write the blogs, and get the galleries up by the end of this week since we're leaving for the West coast soon-! We're so thrilled to have in-home petsitters at our place again for that to keep our dog and cat thriving and keep watch over our place. After the Lehman blog post at the start of September on Jenny's birthday, we'll update you on upcoming the travels! We also have a plethora of weddings and Engagement Sessions to capture throughout September and October as well as past wedding couples' prints and albums to hopefully tackle if their photos are chosen, so it's going to be a rapid summer to fall transition before we know it (though we still have a FULL month of the summer season left technically)! We'll catch you next week with some more exciting and absolutely adorable 7 month old photos and have a great weekend!
