Ni and Antonio are an awesome couple from Michigan whose photos we cannot wait to share with you this week! Ni is from around Kalamazoo, Michigan (about an hour north of us here in Indiana) and Marc Antonio (he goes by Antonio) is from near Detroit, Michigan. These have two have lived two hours apart during the most recent portion of their relationship, but nevertheless are extremely sweet and caring with each other as if they've never spent a day apart. As anyone who has been in a long distance relationship knows, trips to see each other are very special and keeping in contact with great communication is very important just as it is in every relationship. Over the past year while apart these two drove to visit each other, keep in contact via Facetime, and also call each other and text often. Some of our wedding couples throughout the years and especially this past year have lived states apart from each other or even across the country from each other due to Master's programs or great jobs, then upon getting married have packed up their lives and moved to finally be together once they finished their program and both found jobs in the same city! (It's not uncommon at all, but it's not something that's often talked about.)
But let's talk about how these two first met: Ni and Antonio met in their dorm at Western Michigan University. The two lived on the same floor and slowly started to get to know one another. They found out that they had a lot in common and started to hang out more and more. They bonded over intellectual things such as books, fine art, anime, games, and as Ni put it, "nerdy and geeky stuff." They started to spend much of their free time together at first watching anime together in each others' rooms, eating a ton of food, and chilling, then they evolved to hanging out pretty much daily. Antonio loves to cook, so he cooks for Ni and the two are just flat out good to each other. No matter what they've always talked things out and made each other feel comfortable and confident (even during any minor conflict).
These two were a dream to photograph throughout the day. It's clear that they respect and love each other mutually through how kind they are to each other, how they make each other laugh hysterically, and how they help one another. Ni said of Antonio "I loved how he was very kind & understanding, how we were so similar, and how hardworking and passionate he was about his passions and everything he does." She also sweetly added later that "...he never fails to make me feel better."
Ni and Antonio are a very driven couple- some may even say a "power couple." They both have a shared love for fashion with Antonio being a fashion designer and photographer and with Ni being a model herself. The two have high hopes for their future musing that they've thought about moving to New York City, Los Angeles, or Chicago to continue to pursue their passions more intensely! We chatted a little about California (since the two of us initially met there when we lived there) and about ideally visiting New York City again this year.
Thank you so much Ni and Antonio for everything!! We had a blast photographing your love and we know that you two have a long lasting future together ahead of you. We cannot wait to see what you two create together and in your creative fields and wish you all the best in love and life!
Unrelated: We hope you all have a great Father's Day weekend whether you're celebrating with a father, whether you're working, if you're a great father yourself, or whether you're celebrating yourself, your mother, or your other friends and family instead (since not everyone has a great dad). We will be hanging out with Jenny's dad (well, both of her parents up in Michigan)! We have some more wedding consultations for 2019 coming up over the weekend and week, so we are planning for those, we're finishing edits on one more wedding's worth of photos from May (yay Amy & Mike!), scheduling a few more Engagement Sessions for our clients for this summer (July weekends are completely BOOKED now), and are so ready to capture Aileen & Ryan's upcoming South Bend wedding! Next Wednesday since we often sort of play Wedding Planner during many weddings and make many couples' wedding day schedules we'll be sharing a blog on a ton of tips and tricks on how to put together many portions of the day seamlessly in one amazing schedule! Check back next Weekly Wednesday for the tips and tricks!!
