Joanna & Kyle's Ohio 8th Year of Marriage: 2011 Wedding Rewind!

Today we're sharing with you another throwback wedding because tomorrow is the 7 year, 4 month anniversary of Joanna & Kyle's wedding out in Ohio! These two were wed back on September 11th, 2010 in southeast Ohio on a beautifully warm, sunny summer day! Kyle is part of a family of 3 siblings and Jenny attended Kyle's brother's wedding a year earlier, then photographed Kyle and Joanna's wedding in 2010, followed by photographing his sister Emily's wedding the following year around the same time! This is the only time where either of us has been a part of 3 siblings' weddings! We love things like this where we get to know entire families through being hired as the photographer of such a special day. It's such an honor and joy to watch a family grow and expand, so we're excited to share this wedding that we photographed within our first year of business. Though our style and skills have significantly improved in the past going on 9 years of being wedding photographers (due to working in the industry for so long as well as our gained formal degrees in photography- BFA and MFA in commercial and fine art photography), it's still nice to look back on such a huge day of someone's life that we've been able to partake in! Few people in this world can claim that their job is to help make the best day of someone's life even better and easier, but we get to do that as our actual career which is always humbling! Without further adieu, here's a quick throwback to Joanna & Kyle's wedding nearly seven & a half years ago!

The day started out at their wedding ceremony & reception hall where the two were to be wed. Joanna got ready with her bridesmaids in one of the side rooms while Kyle got ready on the other side of the building. Joanna was her calm, collected self on the outside and looked beautifully classy as her bridesmaids helped her get ready. Her soon-to-be sister-in-law Emily had her daughter in the room playing around along with another of the kids and the mood was fun and relaxed!

Prior to the ceremony we captured some of their formal photos of them with their side of the bridal party. First we went and photographed Joanna with her bridesmaids on the stage and then when she and her bridesmaids were hidden we then photographed Kyle and his groomsmen on the stage (along with some silly photos). Before we knew it it was time for the ceremony, though!

The bridal party made their way down the aisle followed by the flower girls and ring bearer, and then Joanna made her way in. Soon Joanna was at the front of the guests and on the stage comfortably next to Kyle as the priest officiated the ceremony.

The ceremony was traditionally Christian and the music was beautiful as Joanna and Kyle officially wed in front of all of their friends and family. They exchanged rings and kisses, then the marriage was official! They then got to walk down the aisle as newly weds in front of all of their friends and family.

After the ceremony, Kyle and Joanna signed their official paperwork and headed back to the stage for some more formal photos with their bridal party and families. As they headed back to the stage, I quickly photographed their rings together and made my way to the stage.

Joanna and Kyle each had 4 groomsmen and bridesmaids, so the group photos of each were captured before we moved on to photographing them with their families. We photographed Kyle and Joanna with their families and before we knew it it was time for the reception to officially start!

The wedding was a dry Christian wedding, so everything was nice and pleasantly calm as Kyle and Joanna enjoyed their First Dance, the mother-son dance, and father-daughter dance. They enjoyed their full dinner at their grand table up at the front near the stage, then it was time for the cake cutting! These two were very sweet as they cut their cake which was one of the last events of the night and reception itself!

A huge congratulations on your 7 years and 4 months, Joanna and Kyle! We hope you two are doing so well in Ohio and we're so happy that you two have found so many years of love! Here's to a lifetime more of happiness.

On an unrelated sidenote: We're actually in California this week visiting Jason's immediate family and we will be heading abroad on Sunday with Jason's brother, wife, and in-laws. For now, we've made it to Hollywood, the Santee Alley of the Fashion District of L.A., Little Tokyo, Vasquez Rocks, LittleRock, and various areas of the Antelope Valley. We're staying with Jason's grandma, mom, and uncle and 7 pets currently this week and we'll be heading on to Santa Barbara (our old home city where we originally met) tomorrow. There are horrific mudslides that just started yesterday and continued today, so we're not sure if that portion of the plans may get disturbed, but we're so happy that so far we've been able to see 3 family members and 5 friends! We'll be seeing 4 more family members starting on Sunday (who we're staying with for 8 days) and we hope to see a good amount of more friends in the next few days, so we're thankful and trying to absorb all of this visit since we haven't had any days off in a long time! We'll be returning to our office on Monday January 22nd and we have wedding consultation meetings scheduled for the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, so we're looking forward to meeting with so many amazing couples when we return!
