This past week (day 2 of fall) we were lucky enough to have gotten to capture Steph & Mark’s beautiful family for their Fall Family Portrait Session! Since it was still September, it basically looks and feels like summer still, so you won’t be seeing the traditional fall leaves, rather beautiful summer-esque nature surrounding all of them this past week capturing their Family Portrait Session! Now onto their Session!
Right away this Session with Steph & Mark’s family of five was fun! Mark is one of Jenny’s 13 cousins, so we have the pleasure of seeing these 5 throughout the year (most heavily in summer), but haven’t seen everyone a whole lot this year since it’s been our busiest wedding season in 10 years! Their sons Johnny, Charlie, & Teddy are always extremely fun and entertaining (and we were so lucky to have the pleasure of celebrating a bit of Christmas with them all at their newest house right before the new year this year)!
The boys all definitely all have their own fun & unique personalities with Johnny being the most competitive/ game driven, Charlie being the goofiest/ making the best silly faces, and Teddy being a very quick learner (duh with 2 older brothers to lead him) and being the most excited to pet our dog Coco the most (which we love)!
For their Family Portraits Steph was loving the idea of heading to the park for a nice open nature setting for them and wanted to have it while it was still warm outside. It was a beautiful and warm day for them which we were thrilled about since an immense amount of rain and thunderstorms came later in the week (literally even the following day). Prior to their Session we had sent them our Clothing Guide blog post (which desperately needs to be updated since it’s been 3 or 4 years) and they absolutely did a fantastic job choosing beautiful gem tones for their outfits which we were loving! (So cute, right?!)
We also brought along a picnic blanket for everyone to sit on & enjoy at the park as well which was knitted by Jenny’s grandma maybe 30+ years ago-! The boys sat adorably on it for some photos, then we let them “dog pile” on top of each other after playing with fallen leaves & acorns.
The boys enjoyed views of the river, a tee pee, a pond, and even a tee pee during their Family Portrait Session! Moments in-between full family portraits we had Steph and Mark relax while the boys played pushing each other on the swings, throwing acorns in the river, or defending their tee pee with stick swords!
Thank you so much, Steph, Mark, & family for having us capture your Family Portraits! We hope that you enjoy these Teasers and that you’ve had a good week since we last hung out (thank you again for the Bonnie Doon’s)! We hope that you enjoy your full gallery and can’t wait to see what photos you choose for us to send you (and can’t wait to print those when we return from Italy)! We hope to see you all in person again soon and will definitely see you at Thanksgiving next month!
______Unrelated: We landed in Italy just last night for Kyla & Walt’s wedding coming up! We landed in Pisa, Jenny got the rental car, and we drove to La Spezia on the Ligurian Sea (on the West Coast of mid-Italy) last night. This morning we headed up 45 minutes to Cinque Terre (where Jenny had once camped in the most luxurious tents of her life), took in the sights, then drove to Urbino, Italy this afternoon where we will spend 4 full days! Urbino is across the country from Pisa (a 4 hour drive) near the East Coast/ the Adriatic Sea in Tuscany, Italy and is where Jenny studied in college for the summer 13 years ago in 2016! She was a mere 19 years old the last time she was in Italy/ lived in her apartment in Urbino, so we figured we’d spend 4 days here visiting with her old friends there and eating the delicious foods in this gorgeous castle-esque city with full cobblestone streets and all foot traffic. Tonight we got to reunite with Jenny’s friend Cheryl who still lives in Urbino and meet her husband! Before our blog post next Weekly Wednesday, we’ll be heading to Florence/ Firenze on Sunday, then Pisa on Monday, and onto the villa in Siena for Kyla & Walt’s wedding week! We’ll be there with them for a few days, then head back to Chicago/ Indiana to capture Kevin & Katie’s wedding! Check back in next week for our 200th Weekly Wednesday blog post of October wedding anniversaries and then prepare yourself for the following 2 weeks of Wedding Teasers from Italy and a resort in Indiana!!
