We REALLY wanted to go through and share with you our favorite wedding moments of 2017 this last day of January 2018! We're in our 9th year of our career in Professional Wedding Photography and every year just keeps getting better and better. This past year we photographed weddings in Illinois, Indiana, & Michigan and our couples came in from eight states this year: California, Nebraska, Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, & Indiana! (Don't worry, Ohio- we have awesome Ohioan couples coming into Indiana for their 2018 weddings that we're capturing this year). It's such a joy to get to work with couples from far and wide throughout the year or two leading up to their wedding day and we truly appreciate each and every one of our brides and grooms.
With the wedding day being one of the most important and symbolic days of many people's lives, it's a complete honor for us to get to be there for our couples and be a positive support throughout the day and time leading up to it. We get to know all of our couples' personalities intimately through in-person meetings, emails and calls throughout the year or two prior, working on their wedding day schedule together with them, and even have the pleasure of getting to capture some of our couples' Engagement Sessions a year prior to their wedding (**which really helps us figure out how to work with their specific body language). Our couples often share their excitement, struggles, family stories, aspirations, fears, career changes, and everything in between with us during the process of us working together for the first 365 days or more. The most amazing thing about genuinely getting to know and empathize with a couple so far prior to capturing them on their wedding day is that by the time their wedding happens we're honestly very excited for them and are able to capture the moments of the day in the most authentic and unique way specific to each couples' personalities! As you'll see, each wedding is gorgeous and each of our couples is uniquely different, but equally amazing. We spent a lot of our year laughing and crying with these wonderful couples and have chased all of them around through their entire wedding day, so...

We were honored to photograph these absolutely most amazing, hard-working, educated, amazing couples ever at a plethora of beautiful venues in the past year-! Among all of the weddings above of 2017, we were able to capture so many University of Notre Dame Basilica weddings (some of which even started at the Morris Inn on campus), Purdue University weddings, Morris Park Country Club receptions, Palais Royale receptions, a wedding down near Indiana Beach in Monticello literally on Lake Shafer, so many beautiful end-of-summer Midwest fully outdoor weddings, Amish Acres weddings, Chicago weddings, Indianapolis weddings, Mishawaka weddings, the beautiful Biltwell Event Center down in Indianapolis, other country club receptions, Riverside Terrace receptions, etc! The entire year was a semi blur of joy and hard work! Though we finished up almost all of the printed photographs, Keepsake Boxes, Print Packages, etc. throughout the past 10 months, we are even now still working with a few of the couples (who are still choosing their printed photos) on designing their beautiful, huge physical wedding albums and helping them choose giant prints for their included Print Packages (and hundreds of smaller prints for their gorgeous Keepsake Boxes that we stain, engrave, etc.)-! It's been quite the whirlwind and it was definitely the most gratifying professional wedding photography year that we've had up to this our 9th year of professional wedding photography.
An aside>>> Although most of you likely celebrated your Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, etc. holidays within December and got to see your immediate families and loved ones then, we were extremely busy in December working 7 days a week literally up until January 5th and we JUST took our belated Christmas trip to see family this month (in January)! We just returned a little over a week ago from visiting immediate family for the holiday trip in California and Mexico for a couple weeks (while having our 3 pets homesat at our house- THANK YOU Sara & Marie!!). We DID NOT bring our professional equipment with us- none of our computers, obviously not the huge professional printers, nor most of our camera gear (which we kept in secure storage). It was nice "not working" during those visits, though in actuality we did work a few days of the trip on borrowed iPads, laptops, and at an internet cafe in Mexico. It's literally impossible--- even while visiting family that we only get to see once every year or two-- to not work if you own a business and run it by yourselves because you're the only ones who can run your business and answer specific questions. We don't have a secretary, so any inquiries, prints, etc. are done by the two of us and us only.
It was nice to get out and away from our desks and computers and visit with our loved ones who we only get to see ONCE annually, though! ALL of last week and even this week has been packed with printing photos for clients, packaging those photos, shipping those orders to clients, having wedding consultations both in our office and hours away from our office, writing up new wedding contracts, processing payments, etc. We've been going non-stop, so this has been our first opportunity to go back through the over 10,000 to 20,000 photos of the weddings that we captured last year and choose out our favorites-! It has been a days-long process to narrow down these photos, but it was all worth it to be able to look back at the past year's amazing couples and beautiful moments-! **AND check back next week to see some of the awesome physical photo items that we've created for our amazing clients over the past year!
